Color Me Creative This is a monthly creative-writing contest sponsored by Universal P&P and the Writers Resource Center. We challenge writers to think outside the box; make us laugh, make us cry, make us wonder, but whatever you do - follow the monthly prompt and keep it to less than 100 words. JULY COMPETITION:  This contest is currently accepting submissions.  Deadline date for final submission is FRIDAY, JULY 25th, 2008. The "Color Me Creative" July competition is real simple ... just tell us about a road trip. You know what a road trip is, right?  It's when you pack a bag, hop in the car and take a road trip.  So why is this simple request a creative-writing challenge?  Because this "Color Me Creative" road trip is limited to one block. Yeah, we want to hear about all those unexpected surprises and misadventures all road trips have, especially a block-long (or short) one.   (Don't forget to read the rules below before you submit, it's no fun to disqualify good submissions because of some stinky red-tape.)  Rules for "Color Me Creative" monthly contest: Submissions must be received via email at empower_me@universalpandp.com by 9:00 p.m. PST (Pacific Standard Time) (That's 12:00 midnight East Coast Time). No exceptions. (Even one minute late will disqualify an entry.) Submissions must be less than 100 words.  No exceptions. (Name, date and contact information does not count toward total word count.) (Even one word over will disqualify an entry.) Winners cannot enter another "Color Me Creative" contest for 90 days (3 months) following the month they were previously selected as winner. Submissions must be original, unpublished works written by the individual claiming creation of the written works. Submissions may be submitted for individuals, if necessary. (This means that your friend can email something you have written, if you are unable to.) The final decision will be that of the staff, partners, sponsors and judges selected by Universal P & P.  The decision made by our staff is final. There is no entry fee for the "Color Me Creative" contest. All entries must contain:  1. Complete name (legal first and last name). 2. Current date. 3. Contact email address. Only one entry per person. Selected winners will receive the following:    First place:  1. $45.00 in the form of a United States Postal Service (USPS) money order via U.S. mail within two weeks (10 business days) after the selection process is complete.  2. Publication online and in monthly newsletter.  Second place: 1. $25.00 in the form of a United States Postal Service (USPS) money order via U.S. mail within two weeks (10 business days) after the selection process is complete.  2.
